What is E-Invoice?
E-Invoice is an electronic document that is not printed on paper and all transactions are carried out in a digital environment. The data format and standard are determined by the Revenue Administration (GİB). It contains the information that should be included in an invoice according to the Tax Procedure Law (VUK). The transmission between the seller and the buyer is also managed by GİB. While a paper (printed) invoice is prepared manually or through a program and printed out, an E-Invoice is only created and sent digitally. Both types of invoices are legal according to the VUK. The only difference between E-Invoice and a printed invoice is that the former is received and sent via electronic means.

The e-Archive, which was introduced with the General Communique of Tax Procedure Law (VUK) No. 433 and can be described as a type of electronic invoice, allows the second copy of an invoice to be created and stored in digital form. If necessary, e-Archive can also be presented electronically. The data format and standard of e-Archive are determined by the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB). While e-Invoices are only issued and sent between e-Invoice users, e-Archive is used when the sender is an e-Invoice user and the recipient is a paper invoice user. In other words, e-Invoices can only be issued and sent to e-Invoice users. For individuals and companies who are not e-Invoice users, a paper invoice or an e-Archive invoice is issued. To be an e-Archive user, one must first be an e-Invoice user.

e-Delivery Note is an electronic document that contains all the information required by Article 213 of the Tax Procedure Law (VUK) for a traditional delivery note. Its format and standards are defined by the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB). Legal Obligation to Retain e-Ledgers
According to the e-Ledger General Communiqué, businesses are responsible for retaining their e-Ledgers in a digital environment. While it is mandatory to store them on a business’s own IT systems, they may also be stored through integrator companies offering e-Ledger storage services. The Revenue Administration (GİB) recommends storing e-Ledger records with private integrators.
An e-Self-Employment Receipt is an electronic document issued by self-employed professionals for their professional services. It has the same legal validity as the traditional printed version and can be delivered electronically or in printed form upon the client’s request. It is digitally stored and can be presented when necessary. The receipt is reported to the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB). Since January 1, 2018, taxpayers who are obligated to issue self-employment receipts (such as certified public accountants, lawyers, doctors, architects, engineers, and artists) have been eligible to use the system. Traders or wholesalers who are required to keep books must issue a farmer’s receipt (müstahsil makbuzu) for products purchased from farmers who are not obliged to keep books. The e-Farmer’s Receipt is the electronic version of this document. It is prepared, stored, and transmitted in accordance with the procedures and principles set by the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB), and it is reported to GİB. Taxpayers who are required to issue a farmer’s receipt have been eligible to join the e-Farmer’s Receipt system since January 1, 2018. The e-Farmer’s Receipt application is not mandatory, and unless otherwise stated in the General Communiqués of the Tax Procedure Law, it is not necessary to be included in other systems such as e-Invoice, e-Archive, or e-Ledger to use it.

The Preference Notification Screen will list the ÖKCs registered under your name, and you can verify your ÖKC from there. Complete this step before notifying the GIB system about your ÖKC.
